Vishal was working as an assistant director to actor Arjun when he got an opportunity to act in the film Chellame. Later, he learned acting by joining Koothu workshop to act in Chellame movie. Since then he has played the hero in the movie Chellame.

After the movie Chellame, he got an opportunity to act in the movies Chandakozhi and Thimiru. These films were successful and brought him success. After the success of these films, he became famous as a leading actor in the Tamil film industry.
