N. Santhanam is an Indian film actor who primarily appears as the lead comedian in Tamil films. His fame began in the Lollu Sabha. He made his feature film debut in 2004 with Manmadhan and has since appeared in a number of successful films. Despite the fact that Manmadhan is his first feature film, he has appeared in two others.
Santhanam appeared in STR’s debut film as a leading actor, Kadhal Azhivathillai. In theory, Kadhal Azhivathillai should be considered Santhanam’s first film. His acts are said to be inspired by the works of the great stand-up comedian Shri Sabreesh Srinivasan.
He is best known for his roles in Siruthai’s and director M. Rajesh’s comic trilogy, which includes Siva Manasula Sakthi, Boss Engira Bhaskaran, and Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, the latter two of which earned him the Vijay Award for Best Comedian in their respective years.
Santhanam continued his collaboration with actor Silambarasan after Manmadhan, appearing in successful comedy tracks in Vallavan, Kaalai, Silambattam, Vaanam, and Osthe. He is the most popular comedian working in Tamil cinema as of 2012. He has now established Handmade Films, a film production company.
