Samuthirakani is an Indian Tamil film director and actor. He has worked not only in Tamil film industry but also in Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada film industry. He made his debut in the film industry by working as a story writer for the 2003 Tamil film Unne Saranadayhen. He has also received Tamil Nadu Government’s best story writer award for this film.
Later, in 2004, he also worked as a story writer in the movie Neranja Manasu starring actor Vijayakanth. In the year 2009, he made his debut as a director by directing the film Nomads. The film was a huge hit in Tamil Nadu.
Later, he made his debut in the Telugu film industry by remaking this film in Telugu as Shambo Siva Shanbo in 2010. In 2011, he remade the movie Borali in Kannada with the title Yare Koogadali.
