Vellakuthira is a Tamil village drama film directed by Saranraj Senthilkumar and produced under Nijam Cinema. The film stars Harish Ori Arthnari as Kathir, a greedy man determined to get rich through illegal activities, which eventually pushes his family into a severe financial crisis. When a lender threatens to take his wife Kayal (played by Abhirami Bose) away, a violent encounter leaves the lender in a coma, forcing the family to escape to Kathir’s abandoned ancestral mountain village.

As Kathir promises to reform, he discovers the villagers have been living for generations without road facilities, struggling daily. His crafty mind, however, finds a new money-making opportunity by exploiting a native energizing drink called “Mooligai Rasam”. Meanwhile, Kayal uncovers the exploitation done by Ezhuvan, the ex-village president who confiscates villagers’ lands through small loans. The film unfolds the interplay of villagers’ fight for basic necessities, Kathir’s internal battle, Ezhuvan’s exploitation, and the consequences of greed.

Supported by strong performances from Rejin Rose, Melody Tarks, Udhiri Vijayakumar, and Nsd Arivu, Vellakuthira delivers a gripping tale set in a rural backdrop with emotional depth and social relevance.
